KIM BARKER - Kim has been a member of Amboy UMC all of her life (her mother and grandparents started there when services were held in a tent). She and her husband, Dale, and their son, Brett, are very active in the Amboy Praise Band. The guys play guitar and bass guitar, while Kim helps run the sound system. Both of her maternal great-grandparents were Methodist preachers, and her great-grandmother (Esther Mooty) was the first female to be ordained as a minister in Arkansas. About two years ago, Kim received a calling to speak about the Power of a Praying Parent. Since that time she has spoken publicly several times and was recently certified as a Lay Speaker in the Methodist Church. She and her husband, Dale have been married for 17 years. They have one son, Brett who is 15, and will be 16 in February. She has been very active as a youth parent, and is very excited to be working with the youth as a leader!
