Youth Connected In Christ

1 Timothy 4:12 says: “Let no one despise your youth, but set the believers an example in speech and conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.” At Levy United Methodist, our goal is to point youth to Christ, and to equip them to be spiritually mature Disciples for Him. Students from 7th grade through 12th grade searching for a place to fit in and have fun will find that as a part of Extreme 180 Youth at Levy United Methodist Church. At Levy United Methodist Church, we offer several opportunities for teens to learn about God and His incredible plan for their lives. On Sunday mornings, at 9:00, we "examine the latest music, movies, news, and current events through a Biblical lens," using the LinC Bible Study. Our worship service begins at 10:15am, and is a traditional United Methodist Worship service. We encourage our youth to participate in the service and to experience the grace of God as we offer Him our gifts of praise and worship. UMYF (United Methodist Youth Fellowship) happens every Sunday night from 5:30pm until 7:00pm. We enjoy a meal together, and then have a great time of games and practical lessons from the Word of God. On an occasional Sunday night, we will travel off campus for bowling, miniature golf, a concert, or a cook-out and hiking at Pinnacle Mountain. Wednesday Night Live, our Contemporary Worship Service, kicks off at 6:00pm and wraps up at around 7:00pm. This is a time of great music, prayer, and a brief message from the Bible. Throughout the year, our youth participate in District and Conference activities, where they have the opportunity to develop friendships with youth from other churches in the central Arkansas area and across the state of Arkansas. These activities include Refuge, Veritas, Praise the Roof, Jr. High and Sr. High Assembly, and other events, camps and retreats held at various locations around the state of Arkansas. The activities listed above require funds, so we offer our youth opportunities throughout the year to participate in fundraisers. These fundraisers include carwashes, candle sales, a rummage sale, and a spaghetti supper/bake sale among other fundraising events, which all help to reduce the expense associated with our District and Conference activities. One of the most important opportunities we offer our youth as a part of Extreme 180 Youth is the opportunity to serve others. Levy Mission Project provides our youth the opportunity to serve members of our church and our community by assisting them with lawn work, clean up, and minor home services, such as painting, and light carpentry work. Our youth will also participate in soup kitchens, and a spring break mission project to the Mississippi River Delta area of Eastern Arkansas. If you are a student from 7th through 12th grade, and you are looking for a place to fit in, have fun, and grow in your understanding of God and His plan for your life, we hope you will check out Extreme 180 Youth at Levy United Methodist Church.
