BMMC - Levy UMC Wellness Center
Levy United Methodist Church hosts one of the Community Based Wellness Centers of our local Baptist Health Medical Center. Our center is open each Monday from 9:00 am until 11:00 am, except for six weeks in July and August each year. Professional medical staff personnel join with volunteers from our church to help monitor the health needs of persons in our community. The services of the center are completely free to the public. Every Monday the basic checks are made (blood pressure, etc.). Each month different specialties are featured such as checks for glaucoma, blood sugar, hearing and cholesterol.

"Busy Bees" quilters
This group of ladies started meeting more than 60 years ago and was begun by a lady named Gertrude Lubker. They only quilt for the public (they do not piece quilts) and the proceeds go for special projects for the church. This amount averages $1200.00 to $1500.00 annually.
This 'fun' loving group of ladies meets every Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. They always eat lunch and leave about 3:00 p.m.
Anyone interested in learning the art of quilting, or anyone who already knows how, is welcome. Just bring your needle and thimble and join us!

We are open all year. We will follow the North Little Rock School District calendar. It is the purpose of Little Disciples Mothers' Day Out to provide the highest quality care, education, and service for the children of our community in a Christian atmosphere. It is also our goal to provide educational experiences that will contribute to each child's spiritual, emotional, intellectual and physical development. We wish to provide the parents of our children the highest quality of spiritual and professional service as well. The Director is Amy Newsome.
Mission Projects
Some of our mission projects are listed below:
One Great Hour of Sharing - An offering is taken to be used by United Methodist Committee on Relief. This is the first relief agency to be on the scene of disasters and this offering replenishes their supplies for the next emergency.
Festival of Sharing - This is an ingathering of health and school kits prepared for various disaster needs. We also have a blanket Sunday to provide blankets to be distributed world wide as needed. Sunday School Classes and other Groups in the church have ongoing outreach programs. Money was collected during Lent for Heifer Project International.
Our Friendship Ministry helps with prescribed medications, food and clothing when it is needed.
Food baskets are taken to needy families at Thanksgiving and Christmas as well as food collected for the Amboy United Methodist Church food pantry regularly.
PIT Crew
Our growing Prayer Group is called the PIT Crew. [Prayer Intercessory Team.] The PIT Crew meets on Monday nights at 6:30 PM for about an hour. The team has a short study on prayer followed by a time of prayer offering prayers for everyone in need, and has a 9-1-1 prayer arraignment by which all of the group are notified immediately if special prayers are needed. Great stories of answered prayers are shared and God is praised for His actions. Anyone interested in learning to pray more effectively is welcome.
Scouts
Currently Levy United Methodist Church has several Girl Scout troops that meet at the church.
For more information, contact the church office.

Other activities may be planned during the year. Sometimes we have potluck at the church and other times we go for lunch and meet and the church and ride in the church van.
Singles ministry
Whether single by choice or by chance, the Levy United Methodist Church Singles Ministry welcomes you. We are a group of all ages, Methodists and Non-Methodists alike.
We have potluck meetings, special interest speakers and other social activities. Our group has fun and welcomes any new member. You will find support from someone in our group for any need you may have. Several members use the church van and their own cars to provide monthly transportation for 12 to 15 people with disabilities to attend a dinner and support group meeting at the Oasis. Other activities enjoyed by the group include but are not limited to Murry's Dinner Theater, IMAX Theater, viewing of the Christmas Lights, New Year's party, and joint meetings with other Singles Groups. For more information call Betty Yarbough at 803-4983.
Society of St. Stephen
This special ministry of our church was organized in October 1990. Each week we take bud vases of flowers from our church to the hospital, nursing home and our shut-ins at home. Also, a part of this ministry is taking tapes of the Sunday morning worship service to some of our members.
Small group ministries
Each year Dr. Bush, and others, will be leading and organizing small group short term studies that will focus on priorities for living. Each group will be challenged to "Get into the Word and Go into the World!" These small groups will bond together as we study the "apostles' doctrine and participate in breaking of bread, fellowship and prayers." These groups will meet as a "Wesley Society', to encourage each other to live the faith. For more information contact the church office at 753-6041.
